What an interesting article, we never realize just what is all involved in booking artists and the " risks " involved, there are no assurances of payments ( to all involved in the promoting process ) or profits being made. I can't wait to read the rest of the series !!!

Nobody wants to work for free. While I get that unknown artists have to prove themselves and that may mean working for free or for a nominal amount it's not a system that can be sustained forever, especially if an artist has to have a day job. The fans miss out on a lot of good music in this system.
